Ramon Labañino Thanks the Cuban Pharmaceutical Society

During the 2nd National Meeting of Pharmaceutical Sciences, that wound up on Wednesday at Havana’s Medical-Surgical Research Center, on the occasion of Pharmacist’s Day, Elizabeth Palmeiro, wife of Labañino, read the letter he sent to workers in this sector, in which he underlines the high privilege the acknowledgment means to him.

“For the five of us, since to select one is to select us all, it’s a great distinction that we’ll represent with the dignity and the commitment it merits," adds the message.

"Please accept all the love and the embrace of The Five for the year 2011, and our best wishes for the success you deserve and that our country and mankind so much need,” asserted Labañino in his letter.

In her statements to ACN, Elizabeth Palmeiro highlighted that when the case of The Five was made public, as we as her husband’s biography, she knew that Ramon distributed medicaments to a network of supermarkets in the United States.

Prior to this, on the occasion of Pharmacist’s Day, celebrated every year in November 22, Labañino sent a letter in which he says that "he firmly believes in natural medicine, in plants, and in the rich Nature we have.”

Palmeiro explained that Ramon’s tendency to use medicinal plants is due to the traditions of his mother and his grandmother, of humble and rural origin, and recalled that they solved all the health problems they had with natural medicine, which is very beneficial.
