Caraco Pharmaceutical Laboratories Ltd. (CPD: News ) announced the resignation of Georges Ugeux as a director of the company and from the audit, compensation and independent committees of the board, effective September 20. Ugeux was the chairman of the independent committee.
The added that in his resignation letter, Ugeux indicated that he had disagreements with the majority shareholder and senior management of the company relating to corporate governance and the fiduciary role of independent directors.
Caraco Pharmaceutical Laboratories, Ltd. engages in the development, manufacture, marketing, and distribution of generic, prescription, and over-the-counter pharmaceuticals for wholesalers, distributors, warehousing and non-warehousing chain drugstores, and managed care providers in the United States and Puerto Rico.
