Avidas Pharmaceuticals Selects Veeva CRM to Save More than 50% in Total Costs

PLEASANTON, Calif., - On January 19th, the first of 45 system users at Avidas Pharmaceuticals LLC (Avidas), launched Veeva Systems' VBioPharma(TM) Specialty Care Edition SaaS CRM application. Avidas' Chief Operating Officer had already projected the company would save money in both initial product installation costs and ongoing maintenance costs by selecting the multi-tenant SaaS Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application over traditional client/server alternatives. "VBioPharma is technologically advanced and offers significantly more for at least 50% less than any other product we looked at," said Avidas COO Dan McCall. "In fact, 'significantly' in no way captures the value of what this solution offers over others."

Avidas, a privately-held specialty pharmaceutical company committed to dermatology and women's health, debuted its field sales force in November 2008 and needed a cost-effective, low-maintenance CRM application to maximize efficiency and performance. McCall and his team reviewed several longstanding products in the industry before selecting Veeva's VBioPharma application.

"We considered past experience in the selection process," said Avidas' McCall, the former Vice President of sales for King Pharmaceuticals. "I had been through the CRM product evaluation process several times before where we evaluated Siebel, Dendrite, SAP Mobile, and even the possibility of a custom-built system. But none of these options proved as flexible and affordable as Veeva's VBioPharma."

VBioPharma is the life sciences industry's top SaaS CRM solution and the only application to come pre-validated for PDMA and CFR Part 11 compliance. It also offers four editions in one product to accommodate the unique needs of various life sciences commercial teams (i.e., primary care, KOL management, managed markets, specialty sales). VBioPharma was also just named the 2009 Global Pharma CRM Product of the Year by Frost & Sullivan.

McCall continued, "Many of our sales reps have worked with CRM products, yet they all comment on how the web-based VBioPharma is so intuitive and easy to use. They give kudos to the system for how adaptable it is, as well. When they suggest a change - like re-configuring fields in the call reporting detail, it happens...as quickly and easily as that."

"As a result of this implementation, I have learned a lot about SaaS technology and the business value it offers to life sciences companies," concluded McCall. "It allows any sized company to benefit from the very best practices in the industry as they are discovered without spending an extra dime."

Matt Wallach, executive vice president & general manager at Veeva Systems, concluded, "Avidas represents why, in this economic climate, we see SaaS becoming a requirement across the life sciences industry. Avidas is a small, fast-paced company and our customers need speed, flexibility, and cost effectiveness and that is exactly what we deliver."
