Teva Pharmaceutical spent $840K lobbying in 2Q

Drug developer Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Inc. spent $840,000 lobbying the federal government during the second quarter on a range of drug and health care issues, according to a recent disclosure form.

Teva, based in Israel, is among the world's largest generic drug developers. The spending marks no change from the same period a year ago and a 2 percent increase from $820,000 during the first-quarter.

The company lobbied on issues for increasing funding for the Office of Generic Drugs, specifically on emergency contraception issues. Teva also lobbied on patent and health care reform issues during the April to June period, according to a filing with the House clerk's office on July 16.
