Nycomed seeks damages from Sun Pharma, Teva

Unlisted Swiss drugmaker Nycomed is seeking damages for a patent infringement of Pantoprazole from India's Sun Pharmaceuticals and Tel-Aviv-listed Teva, an official said on Wednesday.

"Teva and Sun will have to compensate us on damages in the US," Hakan Bjorklund, chief executive of Nycomed, told reporters at a conference.

Zydus Nycomed, a joint venture between Nycomed and India's Caidla Healthcare, will manufacture 11 APIs (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) from its manufacturing unit near Mumbai from 2011, he added.
