| A major fire broke out in a leading electronic store here today. However, no casualities were reported. | |
| According to fire brigade sources, the fire broke out in the upper basement of Girias Electronic Store, where over 500 washing machines and 600 refrigerators were stored. The fire spread through the upper basement. Nearly 25 fire tenders doused the flames after four hours, the sources said. The fire fighting tenders managed to restrict the extent of the fire to the upper basement and prevented it from spreading to the lower basement, which housed the display area for the electronic goods. "It was difficult to access the fire engulfed area as there were no proper ventilators, doors, windows. Eeven the fire fighting system was not really in place", the sources said. Meanwhile, another fire broke in a pharmaceutical laboratory in Kormangala area of the city. No casualities were reported, fire brigade sources said. Nine fire tenders doused the flames, which broke out at around five pm. | |
