Pharmaceutical society welcomes move by Commerce Commission

The Fiji Pharmaceutical society has welcomed the move by the Commerce Commission in putting in place price control for basic essential pharmaceutical products.

The Commission has decided that the prices of 75 basic pharmaceutical products will be reduced by an average of thirty percent from the 21st of this month and they are hoping, life will become much easier for the low income households.

President for the Society, Ajay Raniga said this move will benefit both the consumers as well as the retailers.

Also, with Commerce Minister Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum calling on the Pharmacies and doctors to be transparent with the consumers and to display the list of price controlled items to the public, Raniga said they will comply.
