Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. announced that USFDA hasgranted its subsidiary an approval for its Abbreviated New Drug Application(ANDA) to market a generic version of Sumatriptan Succinate Injection, 6 mg(base) / 0.5mL. This is the first ANDAapproval for a Sumatriptan Auto Injector.The shares of Sun Pharmaceutical are trading at Rs. 493, up by Rs. 4 or 0.64% over the previous close. The total traded quantity stood at 0.14 lakh shares on the BSE.his generic Sumatriptan Succinate Injection packaged in aSingle-Dose Syringe with AutoInjector is equivalent to Imitrex STATdoseSystem, 6 mg (base) / 0.5 mL of GlaxoSmithKline. Annual sale for Sumatriptan SuccinateInjections in the USis approximately $ 190 million.
