Two Local Men Charged With Stealing 85,000 Hydrocodone Tablets

LAWRENCEBURG -- Two Lawrence County men are accused of stealing more than 85,000 hydrocodone tablets from a pharmaceutical plant in Huntsville, Ala.

Michael Newton and Michael Barnett, who belonged to a flooring crew working at the plant, were arrested May 15 and are facing federal drug charges.

Security footage obtained by the Madison County, Ala., Sheriff's Department shows two men stealing tablets from the Qualitest Pharmaceutical plant.

Authorities say they found the stolen tablets at Barnett's and Newton's properties in Lawrence County.
