Construction Begins On New Pharmaceutical Complex In Blaine

BLAINE, Wash. -- Bellingham-based Credo Construction has begun work on a facility that will bring dozens of jobs to Whatcom County.

The 30 million dollar complex will be the home of Viva Biopharm USA, a subsidiary of Viva Pharmaceutical.

The two-year construction project on an 8-acre site along Odell Road in Blaine will create three buildings with more than 200,000 square-feet for manufacturing, research and development.

Viva Biopharm USA will manufacture pharmaceuticals – generic drugs, over-the-counter drugs and nutraceuticals – plus dietary supplements, nutritional products and cosmetic products.

When completed, the Blaine complex will eventually have 150 to 300 employees.
